My husband and I arrived shortly after polls opened this morning to exercise our right to vote. No line-ups this early, what a relief. We provide our ID, receive instruction and off we got to our station to mark the spot. All votes are collected and counted by computer. How clever is that?
Every vote counts.
Afterall, how can you complain about the government if you don't vote?
Today we select a Mayor, a Councillor for our ward (residential area within the city), and a candidate for School Board Trustee (public or Catholic). Have you voted yet? Polls close at 8pm. Not sure where to cast your ballot? See www.edmonton.ca/election
The incumbent mayor Stephen Mandel returns for another tenure.
